WHAT 

The Natural is a simple and straight  forward approach highlighting  naturally processed coffees; fruit forward with pronounced acidity and sweetness. The Natural is a representation of Black & Whites favourite naturally processed coffees the whole year round. All roasted on one profile, "The Natural" showcases crops with clean citrus acidity, a medium/heavy body and a chocolatey fresh fruit finish.

The current Natural is Ethiopia (Sakicha Natural - Guji , Rodrigo - Natural Caturra)
A definite crowd pleaser with notes of Red fruit, chocolate and a balanced acidity.

WHY

In 2017 when U.S. Barista Champions Kyle Ramage and Lem Butler formed Black & White Coffee Roasters. They Envisioned more than just being quality coffee roasters, they aimed to change the competitive landscape too , not by being “better” than the competition but by pushing the craft forward through collaboration. The Black & white coffee sourcing and roasting experience comes from over a decade of studying coffee processing first hand from coffee producers all over the world; understanding coffee consumers through years of experience working in cafes and working for a large coffee roasting company in wholesale management, volunteering, competing in coffee competitions all over the world. 

It is this professional journey, and the community of relationships that they have built along the way that makes Black & White Coffee possible. Understanding that none of this would be possible without fostering great relationships, and continuing to pay that generosity forward is what shaped B&W’s core values: service, community and excellence. This is how they approach the mission statement of “Exceptional Coffee Kept Simple”, a very similar approach to our coffee style at Mows. B&W roast in a way to showcase each coffee’s unique quality, and to honor the extremely difficult work of cultivation at origin.

B&W aren't trying to change the way you think about coffee, rather they hope to change how you see yourself within the coffee value chain. Producer, Roaster, Barista or Consumer— we are all in this together. Coffee is steeped in a rich tradition of relationships, relationships are the fabric of community and community is key to an evolving coffee industry.
